Subject:Moving to Minot
Time:12:35 am
Hi everyone,

I'm moving to Minot in a couple of months for a job and I'm just trying to get some information to prepare for it. I'm originally from Portland, OR and I'm a little wary about all of the snow. Portland shuts down if we so much as get half an inch so I don't have any experience driving in the snow or really having to deal with it. I know I'll have to get a car that's good for snow but I was wondering if anyone had any advice about acclimating to the snowy weather? Or any advice or info you think I should know about Minot or North Dakota?

Thanks.

Hey everyone!

Here's a clever parody of Katy Perry's "California Gurls" entitled "North Dakota Bois." Put together by recent Bismarck High School graduates, it was filmed entirely on location in the Bismarck-Mandan area! It's a nice tribute to everything we all love/hate about North Dakota.

If you like it, be sure to comment and share with your friends!

Subject:Fun for Toddlers in Fargo?
Time:02:11 pm
Hello, all!

Does anyone know of any fun indoor places for toddlers to play in the Fargo-ish area? I know about the Children's Museum at Yunker Farm and the Dinosaur Playland at West Acres. Maybe the arcade at Space Aliens? Though I'm not sure if it really has much for a two-year-old.

I would love to find a place with one of those cages of balls, things like that.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Subject:Grand Forks, ND: The Call of Duty-est Town in America
Time:10:06 pm
according to THIS ARTICLE in Joystiq, Grand Forks, North Dakota has bought the most pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. hey, that's my hometown! wow!

finally we're being recognized for something that's not COMPLETELY a tragedy (see: Flood of '97), though that might depend on who you ask.

i'll admit though, there are A LOT of people who play CoD in this area. I was talking to my former manager at Best Buy and he said in our town of just over 90,000 (Fargo, ND where i live now) the Best Buy here alone has taken over 1,000 pre-orders for just the Standard Edition on Xbox 360.

Reason #98237375 why ND is awesome

While many states scrounge for ways to repair budget deficits, North Dakota is cutting taxes and fretting over how much of its budget surplus to spend or save.

"We all ought to move to North Dakota," joked Raymond C. Scheppach, executive director of the National Governors Association. The group said in a report Thursday that North Dakota and Wyoming remained the only two relative bright spots in a nation mired in recession.
